What is Senior Placement in general?
Senior Placement is a senior housing referral service whether you are looking for a small or large assisted living facility, adult family home, retirement community, nursing home, memory care homes or units, board and care homes, etc. A senior placement or referral agency will help you choose the right senior living facility for your loved one. Some of them will offer care management services, where they will continue to check on your loved one monthly for a fee. Most of the senior placement agencies services are free to you, but then you wonder how is this possible....nobody works for free.
The retirement homes contract with the senior placement agencies, where the placement agency will receive a fee for each senior that will be placed successfully in any of the contracted retirement home. That is why is considered a FREE service to you.
There are advantages and disadvantages by using a senior placement agency. The advantage is that you will be guided by experienced people in the field and instructed in what to look for, questions to ask, and the differences amoung all type of accommodations. The disadvantage is that you will be limited in your choice by the fact that not many retirement homes are using senior placement agencies because of the large fee that the senior home must pay to the agency. |
